Robb Avenue - Anderton to Aitken Road Upgrade Project

Robb Avenue Upgrade Project – Construction Starting July 2026

The Town will begin construction of the Robb Avenue Upgrade Project in July 2026. This important infrastructure renewal project will improve underground utilities, roadway infrastructure, pedestrian facilities, and streetscape features along Robb Avenue between Anderton Road and Aitken Road.

Construction has been awarded to Wacor Holdings Ltd. and is expected to be completed by November 2026.

Project Improvements

The project includes:

  • Installation of new concrete curb and gutter.
  • Construction of a parking bump-out on the north side of Robb Avenue.
  • Sidewalk improvements on the north side of the roadway, including upgrades at two bus stop locations.
  • Replacement of aging underground infrastructure, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer mains.
  • Installation of communications conduit infrastructure to support future fibre optic services.
  • Planting of new street trees to enhance the streetscape.
  • Roadway improvements that will accommodate shared use by motorists and cyclists.

In addition to the Robb Avenue upgrades, the project will include:

  • Asphalt resurfacing of Heather Court.
  • Replacement of a double catch basin on Thistle Court.

What Residents Can Expect

Construction activities will occur throughout the project area between July and November 2026. Residents and businesses may experience temporary disruptions, including:

  • Traffic delays and lane restrictions.
  • Temporary changes to pedestrian access routes.
  • Construction noise during working hours.
  • Short-term interruptions to utility services when infrastructure connections are completed.

The contractor will make every effort to maintain access to homes and businesses and to minimize inconvenience during construction.

The Robb Avenue Upgrade Project will renew aging municipal infrastructure, improve drainage and utility services, enhance pedestrian accessibility, support future communications infrastructure, and improve the overall appearance and functionality of the corridor.
