Parks & Fields

The Parks Department looks after the town parks, greenways, walkways, trails, beach access and playing fields for which the Town is responsible. View our Parks and Playfields Map (PDF) or Beach Access Map (PDF)

The Parks department is in the final stages of the Parks and Trails Master Plan that began in spring 2024.

Highwood Park

A natural greenspace with sitting benches and views of the mountains in a peaceful bird watchers paradise.  Large trees provide a great shady canopies for meeting up with friends or enjoying an outdoor picnic.

Lancaster Park

This park has a trail linking nearby neigbourhoods. There is a playground structure, tables, park benches, and a table tennis structure. To play table tennis, bring your paddles and balls.

MacDonald Wood Park

This park is minutes away from central Comox. The large nature park is approximately 10 acres - older second-growth forest and conversation area.

Mack Laing Nature Park

Situated on the shore of Comox Bay the park honours the legacy and work of H. Mack Laing (1883-1982) and encompasses 8.3 acres of natural, coastal environs with trails that weave through the forest, along a stream, to the ocean.

Marina Park

Located right in the heart of Comox, this park offers a seasonal Comox Rotary Splash Park, children's playground areas, a boat launch, washroom and changeroom facilities, and a covered picnic area.

McKenzie Park

This neigbourhood park has a newly installed playground that opened in August 2023. It has a natural surrounding with shady trees and a larger greenspace. The park has benches and picnic tables to spend time with the family.

North East Comox Wildlife Reserve

The North East Comox Wildlife Reserve, Lazo Marsh and adjacent public lands (the Conservation Area) are important habitats for a variety of waterfowl and wildlife.

Pioneer Memorial Park

In 1980 the pastoral council of the St. John the Catholic Baptist church of Comox officially handed over the cemetery to the Town to be maintained in perpetuity as a memorial park.
