The town’s procedure for filling an employment vacancy is to advertise the position on our website (comox.ca) and in the local newspaper. Some positions are also advertised through professional circulars and other mediums. Our employment postings state the qualifications required for the position.

Application Process:

The town’s policy is to not accept unsolicited or general applications but rather to accept applications for advertised postings only. Applicants should provide a current resume with cover letter indicating the advertised posting they are applying for and how they meet each of the stated qualifications. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their application is received by the town no later than the closing date. Selection Process:

Following the closing date of an employment posting, applications will be reviewed and, based on the information submitted, candidates will be selected who best meet the required qualifications. The selected candidates will be contacted and given additional information on the subsequent selection process.
