Public Hearings

Public Hearing Process

A Public Hearing is the final way for residents to present their views to Council on land use applications. Applications are made to change the Town's Official Community Plan or a zoning bylaw. All persons who consider their interests to be affected by the proposed bylaws shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard. Council is not there to discuss but simply listen to all points of view.

There are two ways to participate in the Public Hearing:

  • Attend the Public Hearing in person at D'Esterre House, 1801 Beaufort Avenue.
  • Submit written comments. Written submissions may be made to the Town of Comox by email or by mail to 1809 Beaufort Avenue, Comox, BC , V9M 1R9 Attention: Planning, or in person at the same address between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Written submissions will not be considered after the close of the Public Hearing.
