The Town of Comox is standing in solidarity to the recent militant attacks in Ukraine.
“What is happening in Ukraine is a terrible thing to experience for any people in any country. The good people of Ukraine and Russia are the ones taking the toll of a dictator’s brutal drive for power, says Comox Mayor Russ Arnott. “The Town, Staff, Council and I stand in solidarity to the Ukrainian people and denounce any form of war.
“Let me make one thing clear: the Russian people should not be punished. These are decisions made by people who do not speak for the entire Russian community, and now is more important than ever to welcome their solidarity as well. The Town of Comox will not stand for hate or discrimination of any kind.”
On February 28th at 12:30pm, the Town of Comox will be raising the Ukrainian flag at Town Hall in honour of the men, women, and children who are suffering through these tragic times. Please join us in denouncing this terrible war and welcoming the Ukrainian and Russian people who do not wish harm on others.
