The Town of Comox is launching Phase 2 of the Parks and Trails Master Plan and inviting residents to provide their feedback. This round of engagement is focused on emerging directions and clarifying priorities for parks and trails improvements.

“We are excited to welcome the community back to the Parks and Trails Master Plan conversation,” said, Comox Mayor Nicole Minions. “Hearing from over 800 community members in Phase 1 was impressive. Now, in Phase 2, we are in the middle of the process, and this is a key time for feedback. We are reviewing what we’ve heard and where we are going before developing the full details of the plan. We look forward to input from residents of all ages so that our plan reflects the interests of our community.”

In Phase 1, the Town received valuable input from interest groups and the broader community, which helped shape the emerging directions for Phase 2. During Phase 2, feedback and insights will be gathered on the draft vision, goals, emerging directions, and priority locations for key amenities. This input will inform the draft Parks and Trails Master Plan, to be developed in Phase 3, continuing through fall 2024.

Residents are encouraged to get involved and share their input from now until August 5, 2024, by:

  • Dropping in at the community event on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Comox Marina Park
  • Stopping by pop-up events in parks and community spaces throughout July or
  • Completing a community survey online at engagecomoxvalley.ca/comoxparks, or by hard copy available through the Town, or at project events.
