
Heat Warning Expected to End

The Heat Warning issued by Environment Canada on August 29 is expected to end on Friday, bringing the return of seasonal temperatures into the weekend.
Please note: with the Heat Warning expected to end on Friday, cooling spaces may not be available over the long weekend.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for East Vancouver Island, including the Comox Valley, with temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius and overnight lows near 16 degrees Celsius are expected for the next several days, Tuesday, August 30 until approximately Friday, September 2.
Looking for a place to cool down while the heat warning is in effect?
- The Comox Community Centre will be open regular operating hours - misting tent and sprinkler in the field available from 1 - 5 pm.
- Comox Rotary Splash Park hours: 10 am - 8 pm
- Comox Fire Hall - misting station outside
- Misting station downtown on corner of Comox Ave and Port Augusta 1 - 5 pm.
Businesses interested in opening as a cooling space are encouraged to invite residents to beat the heat. This is completely voluntary option to Comox Valley businesses, but we thank the business community for your support.
