Health care professionals from all walks of life are joining the COVID-19 vaccine booster campaign in BC, including some of our own!
Six firefighters from Comox Fire Rescue have stepped up in the fight against COVID-19 and joined the vaccine booster team through Island Health. They have been assisting in the booster campaign since December and are scheduled to continue immunizing until the end of February. Collectively to date, they have administered over 1000 vaccinations to the Comox Valley community.
Brent Craven, one of the six firefighters, jumped at the opportunity to serve the community:
“Back in April 2021 when I received my first COVID vaccine, I remember growing very emotional thinking about how this pandemic has influenced the world,” he says. “My hat goes off to anyone who is supporting the vaccination campaign. I feel lucky to be working alongside so many great people during these clinics.”

“My continued thanks go out to the hundreds of health care professionals who are doing what they can to slow the spread of COVID-19,” says Comox Mayor Russ Arnott. “The Comox firefighters who are assisting in the vaccine booster program are doing their part to keep the community safe, and we’re proud to call them some of our Town’s finest.”
