On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Ronna-Rae Leonard, MLA for Courtenay-Comox, Brodie Guy, Island Coastal Economic Trust CEO, Comox Mayor, Nicole Minions, and members of Town Council will celebrate the opening of the Marine Services Building. This building was funded by the Government of Canada through PacifiCan’s Canada Community Revitalization Fund, the Province of British Columbia through their Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program, and Island Coastal Economic Trust’s Capital and Innovation Program.
The new Marine Services Building addressed the lack of retail space and community services at the Comox Marina by providing three retail spaces, public barrier-free washrooms, and a visitor information kiosk. This increased capacity supports tourism-related businesses, creates jobs, and provides long-term economic growth for the region.
