The Town of Comox is looking forward to reaching the millionth Fitness Studio visitor since the renovation in 2011. As part of the celebration on April 17, 2023, anyone visiting the Centre can enter their name to win a one-month, six-month, or one-year membership.
In marking the occasion, the recreation team invites the community to celebrate and reminisce on Tuesday, April 18, at 11:00 a.m. At the event, the team will announce the winners of the membership draws with a community thank you from the Town’s Mayor and free cake and coffee.
“This milestone could not have been achieved without the support of our loyal customers and the newcomers we have welcomed over the last several years,” said Nicole Minions, the Town’s Mayor. “It feels great to thank them for continuing their fitness routines at the Community Centre since the renovation in 2011. Our customers are our friends, our neighbours, the people who become an extension of our family.”
“The Comox Community Centre staff are very excited to have reached one million Fitness Studio visitors,” said Ted Hagmeier, Recreation Director. “It is the staff, both past and present, who dedicated their time and hard work to providing excellent customer service and a safe and clean facility who made this all possible. The one-millionth visitor proves that the Centre is an essential service, not just for the physical aspect, but also for offering our community a healthy consistency of day-to-day routines and services.”
The Comox Community Centre offers recreation programs and services for a variety of ages, abilities and interests, including the award-winning Fitness Studio. The recreation staff are eager to grow and expand the services to adapt to the community’s emerging needs as they aim for the two-millionth milestone.
