The windows of the Comox Community Centre are about to get a colourful seasonal makeover, and the community is invited to help bring them to life while supporting a local cause.
Registration opens November 1 at 6 a.m. for this year’s winter wonderland window painting at the Comox Community Centre. A special thank you to Rebecca from Mountain Top to Beach for creating the window templates that participants will bring to life. Families, friends and community groups can register for a window and colour one of the artist’s pre-drawn winter scenes between November 12 and 18.
A minimum donation of $20 per window is required at registration, with the option to contribute more. All money collected will be donated to Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society.
“This is such a fun and meaningful way to come together as a community prior to the holiday season,” said Comox Mayor Nicole Minions. “Families and friends can spend time creating something cheerful for everyone who visits the Community Centre to enjoy, while also supporting the important work of Dawn to Dawn. I hope our community has as much fun painting these windows as my family and I did.”
Approximately 20-24 windows in the Community Centre lobby and Multi-Purpose Hall will be available for painting. Each registration reserves one specific window during a designated date and time slot, as indicated at the time of registration. Participants are encouraged to make it a group activity, with only one person needing to register on behalf of their family or group.
Registration opens November 1 at 6 a.m., and windows are available on a first-come basis. Register online at comox.ca/register or call the Comox Community Centre at 250-339-2255.
