The Town of Comox is pleased to welcome families back to its Early Years Parent Speaker Series this fall. Running from October 27 to November 24, this free five-week series will take place on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Comox Community Centre. Bringing together local early years experts and parents and guardians, the series offers knowledge, resources, and practical tools to help families navigate the early years with confidence.

Each one-hour session includes a free, healthy meal, made possible through funding from the PlanH BC Healthy Communities Grant Program. Families are also encouraged to bring their little ones. Free, supervised children's activities will be offered during each session, giving parents and guardians an opportunity to participate, connect, and enjoy the evening without having to arrange childcare.

New this year, the final session of the series will take place at the Marina Park Genoa and Spinnaker buildings, providing a unique waterfront setting for families to gather and connect. Program organizers say feedback from participants continues to shape the series, helping it evolve and reach more families.

“We are so grateful to the local experts who volunteer their time and knowledge to be a part of this series and support families in our community,” said Lindsay Welch. “The series continues to expand each year, with new and returning speakers exploring a variety of topics that reflect the changing needs and interests of parents in our community. While the program continues to grow and respond to the needs of local families, its purpose remains the same: helping parents and caregivers build confidence, foster meaningful connections, and create a stronger, healthier community for everyone.”

The Early Years Parent Speaker Series is free, and no registration is required; however, you can enroll to receive speaker resources and updates. For more information and updates on the weekly parent speaker series topics, follow the Comox Community Centre on Facebook and Instagram or contact the front desk at 250-339-2255.
