The Town of Comox is inviting residents to help shape the future of Lancaster Park as work begins on a new concept plan for the popular neighbourhood park at 730 Lancaster Way.
The Lancaster Concept Plan builds on the Town’s Park and Trails Master Plan (2025), a long-term strategy developed through community input and technical analysis to guide future park improvements throughout Comox.
Lancaster Park was identified as a priority site to support the needs of a growing community, including enhanced recreational opportunities, improved accessibility, and spaces that better serve families, children and youth.
The concept plan will explore a range of potential upgrades, including:
- Enhanced and expanded play areas for a variety of age groups
- Improved accessibility and inclusive design features
- Additional shade, seating, and gathering spaces
- Potential water or cooling features
- New or improved pathways and park connections
- Consideration of support amenities such as washrooms
Community feedback will play an important role in developing the concept plan. Residents are encouraged to attend an outdoor pop-up engagement event to learn more about the project, share ideas, and provide input.
