Accessible, Mail Ballot, and Curbside Voting

Accessible Voting

The Town of Comox is committed to ensuring voting is accessible.

Supports available include:
•    Wheelchair accessible voting locations
•    Curbside voting for electors unable to enter the building
•    Assistance marking a ballot, if required

Anyone assisting an elector must make a declaration to respect ballot secrecy and follow the elector’s instructions. Candidates and campaign workers are not permitted to assist voters.

Curbside Voting

Curbside Voting will be offered on General Voting Day (Saturday, October 17, 2026) for those voters who come to the voting place to vote but are unable to enter the voting place because of a physical disability or impaired mobility. Voters can also request a mail ballot voting package if they are unable to enter the voting place.

Mail Ballot Voting

For this municipal election, all eligible electors have the opportunity to cast their vote by mail ballot. Persons wishing to vote by mail must be registered to vote before submitting an application to vote by mail. 

  • Mail ballot voting applications are available to all qualified electors. Please ensure that we receive your Mail ballot application no later than Friday, September 25, 2026.
  • Once ballots are available, mail ballot packages will be mailed to applicants or may be picked at Town Hall.
  • Completed mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer no later than 8:00 p.m. on October 17, 2026, to be counted. Completed ballots may be returned by mail or dropped off in person at Town Hall. 

    Note: If you will be outside of Canada between September 25 and October 17, 2026, we recommend that you designate someone to pick up your mail ballot package on your behalf and express post it to your out-of-country location (please ensure that this person is designated on your application form).
  • All ballots — regardless of voting method — are counted together after voting ends.

Persons wishing to vote by mail must be registered to vote before submitting an application to vote by mail. Please ensure you are registered to vote prior to 4:30 pm on August 25, 2026, if you wish to apply to vote by mail.
