The Town of Comox is reminding motorists to follow traffic and parking regulations to help keep our streets safe and accessible
Under the Town’s Street Traffic Bylaw, parking rules are in place to protect pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, ensure emergency access and maintain traffic flow.
Key Safety Reminders Outlined in the Bylaw Include
Drivers must not stop or park:
- Within 5 metres of a fire hydrant
- Within 6 metres of a stop sign or traffic control device
- Within 2 metres of a non-commercial private driveway (5 metres for commercial driveways or lanes)
- On any sidewalk, bike lane or boulevard
- In a bus zone or other signed transit stop area
- In a fire lane
Vehicles parked contrary to the bylaw may be ticketed, towed or impounded. The Town appreciates motorists' cooperation in helping maintain safe roadways.
