A recent inspection by arborists revealed decay in the lower trunk, and unfortunately, this tree must be removed to ensure public safety. The removal is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28.
During the removal, visitors to the park will be rerouted to Filberg Road, Gates 2 and 3. Pedestrians are kindly asked to follow work zone signage and directions from workers, who will instruct you when it is safe to pass through.
To maintain the tree canopy and natural beauty in the park the Town of Comox parks department has planted 3 Garry Oaks in its place.
