The Town of Comox is excited to announce the completion of the renovated and upgraded saunas in the changerooms at the Comox Community Centre. Originally installed in the 1990s as wet saunas and later converted to dry infrared, the previous units had reached the end of their lifespan.
The newly installed saunas are slightly more spacious and have modern upgrades, including new floor tiles, cedar wood benches, and infrared heating technology, offering an overall wellness experience.
“The saunas have been a valuable amenity at the Comox Community Centre for decades, and we’re thrilled to provide these upgraded spaces for relaxation and wellness,” said Comox Mayor Nicole Minions. “We invite the public to enjoy the many benefits of a sauna experience as part of their health and fitness routine.”
The saunas are available to patrons during regular facility operational hours and can be accessed with a drop-in admission or a valid membership. Users are reminded that they are dry saunas, so no water or aromatherapy products should be added to the infrared system. Additionally, for hygiene and comfort, visitors are encouraged to bring a towel to sit on while using the sauna.
