Families are invited to a Family Day extravaganza at the Comox Community Centre (1855 Noel Avenue) on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This free community event is packed with exciting activities for all ages, offering hours of fun, creativity and connection.
“This event is a chance to gather as a community on a day that celebrates families and the memories we can create through physical activity and play,” said Hanna Stoddart, Recreation Programmer at the Comox Community Centre. “We’re thrilled to be offering a wide range of activities for everyone to enjoy – there’s truly something for all ages and interests.”
The day’s activities include free face painting, an inflatable obstacle course, open gym time, arts and crafts, board games, and story time. Some special highlights include an Axe Capoeira performance and lesson (Brazilian martial arts that blends music, dance and acrobatics), a try-it 25-minute squash lesson for the whole family, and the Seniors’ Intergenerational Action Network will be hosting the storytelling.
Comox Fire Rescue will also be onsite with a fire truck, so that families can tour, ask questions and take a photo.
The Fitness Studio will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with regular admission rates.
Bring the family and encourage your friends and neighbours to join the fun. For more information about the Family Day event, including detailed activity times, visit comox.ca/rec (pg.61 in the Winter Recreation Guide) or contact the Comox Community Centre at 250-339-2255.
