Updated - Heat Warning Rescinded Saturday, August 10
A Heat Warning has been issued for East Vancouver Island (including Comox Valley) beginning August 7, 2024 and lasting through to early next week.
In the Town of Comox, cooling space will be offered during regular operating hours at the Comox Community Centre and cool down at Rotary Splash Park at Comox Marina Park from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. each day. Thanks to Comox Fire Rescue, misting stations will be set up starting Friday (July 5) downtown on the corner of Port Augusta and Comox Avenue from 12 - 5 p.m. There is also an automatic seasonal (approx. May - end of September) water fountain and misting station now at Highland Park, 775 Torrence Road.
