ALERT

Death cap mushrooms have been found in the Town of Comox - near Filberg Park and Baybrook Park. 

As with all plants and fungi, please do not ingest anything you are unfamiliar with.

  • Death cap mushrooms are a high health risk in urban environments, as they are extremely poisonous and closely resemble some edible mushrooms from Asia.
  • Eating them may lead to liver and kidney damage, or death.
  • Never eat anything you cannot positively identify as an edible species.
  • Ensure children and pets are kept at a distance.
