The month of January provides an excellent opportunity for reflection. The Town of Comox is pleased to look back on successful recreational opportunities provided to the community in 2022 and provide a sample of programs to look forward to in 2023.
As part of the Town’s corporate strategic goal to increase awareness of activities, services and programs, the program staff at the Comox Community Centre provided a brief overview of unique and innovative programming that were popular in the community in 2022. Staff have also provided their top 3 programming highlights for the current year: the 2nd annual Youth Recognition Dinner, Youth Art and Media Exhibit, and more group fitness flex programming and options.
“It’s exciting to look back at all we accomplished in 2022. It was again a challenging year for everyone due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. As provincial health orders continued to change, our staff adapted, adjusted, and focused on services for our citizens,” said Ted Hagmeier, the Town’s Director of Recreation. “Without the dedication and commitment from all the staff who continually sought out new and innovative ways delivering recreation and other leisure pursuits, none of this would have been possible.”
A look back on the 2022 recreation highlights and special events can be viewed on the Town’s website at comox.ca.
