The Town of Comox is hosting a free informative workshop for those considering running in the upcoming local elections or those residents curious about the work of local government on Thursday, August 27, from 5 – 9:00 p.m. The workshop is being facilitated by Christina Benty of Strategic Leadership Solutions.
Discussion will include:
- What are the roles and responsibilities of local government and its elected officials?
- What do I need to consider before running for office?
- How do we attract and elect the best people for the job?
- Together, how do we embrace leadership practices that promote long-term sustainability for our future.
Who should come?
- First-time or returning canadiates
- Community members and future leaders
- Voters who want their vote to count
- Anyone passionate about making a difference
Workshop location: Comox Community Centre in the Multi-Purpose Hall, 1855 Noel Avenue
