The Town of Comox is hosting a free informative workshop for those considering running in the upcoming local elections or those residents curious about the work of local government on Thursday, August 27, from 5 – 9:00 p.m. The workshop is being facilitated by Christina Benty of Strategic Leadership Solutions
 

Discussion will include: 

  • What are the roles and responsibilities of local government and its elected officials?
  • What do I need to consider before running for office?
  • How do we attract and elect the best people for the job? 
  • Together, how do we embrace leadership practices that promote long-term sustainability for our future. 

Who should come? 

  • First-time or returning canadiates
  • Community members and future leaders
  • Voters who want their vote to count
  • Anyone passionate about making a difference 

Workshop location: Comox Community Centre in the Multi-Purpose Hall, 1855 Noel Avenue
