Utility Service Fees are included in the annual Property Tax Notice.
If a residential property has a water meter installed, their Water Utility Fee can be billed by:
- Flat Rate (default method)
- Metered Rate (opt in method)
- In many cases, properties with low water use find that paying for water by the metered rates can result in a lower water utility fee.
If you wish to change from one billing method to the other, print and submit the Application Form to Comox Town Hall Finance Department by:
- email
- in person or by mail: 1809 Beaufort Avenue, Comox BC V9M 1R9
- by fax: 250-339-7110
Please note:
Regardless of being billed by flat rate or meter rate, properties will pay an Excessive Use Charge for amounts used over 450 m3 (2024) per calendar year. If applicable, this charge is calculated in January of the following year.
The Town does not notify high water users. It is the property owner’s responsibility to monitor water usage which can be done on the Town website - see Review Your Water Meter Usage. You will need your Account or MXU number to enter into the search field. If you do not have this please contact the Finance department by email or phone: 250-339-2202.
