Frequently Asked Questions:

• 1. What is ActiveNet?

  ActiveNet is the Community Centre's registration, sales & membership and facility booking software.

• 2. What internet browser should I use?

  Online registration works with any of the major browsers: Edge/IE, Safari. and Firefox but is happiest in Chrome.

• 3. Who has priority between online, in person and telephone registrations?

  All registration methods open at 6:00am on the first day of a recreation season. Online registrations are the most efficient way for you to complete your registrations. Reception staff take your in person and telephone registrations in sequence.

• 4. What's the fastest way to find the program I want?

  You have two options:

  1. Go to the recreation guide and click the program barcode in which you want to register. That links directly to the online registration page for that session time/date.
  2. Go to online registration to search for programs or enter the barcode.
• 5. What will happen if I try to register for an activity that is full?

  Your name will be placed on a waiting list. You will be contacted in the event that a space opens for that activity or additional activities are added. If we are unable to contact you, your space will be given to the next customer on the waiting list.

• 6. What are your registration and refund policies?

  Registrations:

  • Registrations accepted in person, by phone and online.
  • Fees are paid in full at the time of registration by cash, cheque, debit, credit card, or Quality Foods Rec Bucks.
  • Comox Recreation reserves the right to make cancellations or changes as necessary.
  • GST charged to all programs with participants 14 years and older.
  • NSF cheque charge is $15 + GST.

  Refunds - classes cancelled by Comox Recreation:

  • Full or pro-rated refund as appropriate.

  Refunds - customer withdrawal from Comox Recreation programs:

  • Full or pro-rated refund as appropriate.
  • Withdrawal five or more days prior to program start date; full refund, no penalty.
  • Less than five days prior to program start date; full refund, $8 + GST administration fee charged per program.
  • After a program has begun, pro-rated refund based on the date of withdrawal; $8 + GST administration fee charged per program.
  • Full or pro-rated refund as appropriate with a doctor’s note; no penalty.
  • No refunds issued after a program has ended.
  • Registrations taken in person, by phone and online.
  • Fees are paid in full at the time of registration by cash, cheque, debit, credit card, or Quality Foods Rec Bucks.
  • Comox Recreation reserves the right to make cancellations or changes as necessary.

  Contractor Programs:

  • Program titles that end with “- C” are offered by independent contractors. Registration and refund policies are at their discretion. Refunds subject to $8 + GST administration fee per registration.

  Fitness Passes:

  • Fitness passes are not transferable.
  • Annual passes may be suspended once during the term of pass (minimum of one month/maximum of three months for medical reasons with a doctor’s note or if pass holder leaves town).
  • Three and six month passes suspended for medical reasons with a doctor’s note.
  • Pass suspensions must be made in person.
