Corporate Services provides a central support role for Mayor and Council as well as a main administrative role for all Town departments.  Other functions of Corporate Services include human resources, communications and public engagement, bylaw enforcement, inquiries and complaints, business licensing and local elections.

Communications and Public Engagement Department 
The Communications and Public Engagement Department develops communications strategies and plans in line with Council's strategic priorities and objectives. The department informs and engages residents and businesses about Town programs, services and events using educational and promotional content, graphics and other methods.

The purpose of the Town's social media channels is to share information with residents, businesses, and visitors. We hope to be able to provide you with the most recent news stories, photos, and videos from the Town of Comox.  We want to ensure that all our visitors to our channels feel respected and heard. Dialogue is valued and encourage, but we reserve the right to remove any comments and block the poster who does not respect the guidelines.

Human Resources Department 
The Human Resources Department provides professional advice and human resources services to Council, Town employees and the public in the areas of employee recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, occupational health and safety and labour relations.

Bylaw Enforcement Department 
Bylaw Enforcement Officers investigate and respond to complaints received about bylaw violations in the Town.  Bylaw enforcement generally refers to a host of actions directed at educating the public, conducting inspections and obtaining compliance with local government bylaws.

Development Services oversees the Planning and Building Departments.

Planning Department
The Planning Department is responsible for the Town’s Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaws and the processing of land development applications including development permits, development variance permits and subdivisions.

Building Department
Building department oversees the issuing of building permits and assures compliance with the building codes, regulations and bylaws of the Town of Comox.

The Finance Department is responsible for budgets, collections, and financial reporting for the Town. They issue tax notices, utility billings, invoices, and business licence renewals. They also administer Municipal Marina leases and berthage.

Comox Fire Department
The Comox Fire Department provides a variety of preventative and emergency services to the Town of Comox, the Comox Fire Protection Improvement District, the Bates/Huband Local Service Area and the K'ómoks First Nation.
