Is a Road Permit Required?
Under the Town of Comox Street and Traffic Bylaw No. 1358, a Road Permit is required for any activity that uses or affects a municipal roadway, sidewalk, parking stall, or right-of-way. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Road or lane closures (partial or full)
- Sidewalk closures
- Parking stall closures
- Bins placed roadside (permit typically applied for by the bin company)
- Construction or utility work within the roadway
- Events, parades, or other activities that impact traffic or pedestrian movement
- Oversize Load / House Moving (review requirements here)

- The Applicant will become the Permit Holder and must comply with these conditions at all times.

- Complete the Road Permit form linked below and submit at least 10 business days prior to your requested Closure Date.
- If approved, the Applicant becomes the Permit Holder and must comply with the Permit Use Conditions at all times.
