Road Permit

Submit your application at least 10 business days prior to your requested Closure Date.
 
Is a Road Permit Required?

Under the Town of Comox Street and Traffic Bylaw No. 1358, a Road Permit is required for any activity that uses or affects a municipal roadway, sidewalk, parking stall, or right-of-way. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Road or lane closures (partial or full)
  • Sidewalk closures
  • Parking stall closures
  • Bins placed roadside (permit typically applied for by the bin company)
  • Construction or utility work within the roadway
  • Events, parades, or other activities that impact traffic or pedestrian movement
  • Oversize Load / House Moving (review requirements here)

Permit Use Conditions

  • The Applicant will become the Permit Holder and must comply with these conditions at all times.
Apply for a Road Permit
  • Complete the Road Permit form linked below and submit at least 10 business days prior to your requested Closure Date.
  • If approved, the Applicant becomes the Permit Holder and must comply with the Permit Use Conditions at all times.
