Under the Town of Comox Street and Traffic Bylaw No. 1358, a Road Permit is required for any activity that uses or affects a municipal roadway, sidewalk, parking stall, or right-of-way and impacts traffic or pedestrian movement. For example:
- Sidewalk closure
- Parking stall closure
- Road or lane closure (partial or full) such as an: construction or utility work, event, parade, block party
- Bin placed roadside - The Road Permit is typically applied for by the bin company as they should already have the required Certificate of Insurance.
- Oversize Load / House Moving - review the Town's requirements here. The permit approval process can take 2-4 weeks to allow time for sufficient review, including assessment of any potential impacts on Town roads.
Click below to apply and submit your complete application package at least 10 business days prior to your requested Closure Date. If approved, the Applicant will become the Permit Holder and must comply with the Permit Use Conditions at all times.
