Your favourite petting farm is returning to Comox this summer. On Monday, June 8, 2026, the Town of Comox Hands on Farm at Filberg Park will reopen for the season. Visitors can look forward to meeting a lively mix of barnyard favourites, including Kunekune piglets, Nigerian Dwarf goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, a turkey, chickens, and ducks.
Hands on Farm is an accessible facility located at 61 Filberg Road, Comox, B.C., and will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until August 16. Admission is $7 for one to three people, $12 for groups of four to six, or $45 for a summer family pass. Group rates are available for events, including birthday parties, school visits, and daycare field trips. Donations are gratefully accepted, with proceeds supporting farm upkeep and animal care.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Hands on Farm this summer,” said Justin Wolfe, Recreation Supervisor. “Filberg Park offers a unique place for children to meet animals up close, explore the outdoors, and make summer memories. Families can also check out our summer camps at Filberg Park and Hands on Farm, which are perfect for kids who want to learn about farm animals while spending time outside.”
Hands on Farm is also seeking volunteers for the season. Volunteers gain valuable experience in animal care, feeding, and helping maintain the barn and yard. Flexible opportunities are available from June through August for anyone aged 13 and up.
