- The Medical Waste Exemption program is only for a property that is being used as a residential property and has the residential automated cart collection program.
The Town’s Medical Waste Exemption program may meet the needs of a resident at your property if they have a medical condition that requires additional garbage cart capacity.
To qualify for this program, all occupants at the property must:
- Be diligently sorting all waste to divert recycling and organic materials away from the garbage, and still find that the non-hazardous medical waste exceeds the garbage cart’s capacity.
- Agree to meet the Terms and Conditions listed on the application form (linked below).
If the applicant is approved through this program, one additional 120 L Garbage Cart will be provided at no cost.
The additional 120 L Garbage Cart:
- Is intended for use only by the approved applicant and for the approved purpose.
- Cannot be transferred to another address, retained for use by other occupants, or left at the property for use by a future owner or occupant.
- The Town must be notified when the applicant no longer requires the exemption or if the applicant plans to move.
