The Town of Comox is pleased to welcome the community back to the 6th annual Music in the Park, a free, family-friendly summer concert event taking place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the lower gazebo in Comox Marina Park, located at 127 Port Augusta Street.
This year’s lineup features Claire Coupland Trio, Generous Thieves, Dug Nugget, and headliner Blasé Blasé, offering an afternoon of hip-hop, soul, reggae fusion, acoustic folk, jazz, funk, and conscious hip-hop.
“This event has become a favourite September long weekend tradition for many residents and visitors,” said Comox Mayor Nicole Minions. “We invite everyone to bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the talented performers, support local food trucks, and spend an afternoon celebrating community together.”
Claire Coupland Trio
Contemporary folk artist Claire Coupland draws listeners in with a beautifully clear voice and honest, intimate songs that are quietly powerful. Joined by expressive percussion, electric violin, and magical three-part harmonies, the trio brings her stories to life with warmth, depth, and a sound shaped by nature, love, family dynamics, and the beautiful messiness of the human experience.
Generous Thieves
Originally formed in Vancouver, Generous Thieves has built a loyal following in Japan with sold-out shows, radio play, and television features. Their reggae fusion sound brings international momentum back to Canadian audiences.
Dug Nugget
This four-piece Vancouver Island acoustic band serves up high-energy folk with guitar, stand-up bass, banjo, drums, and strong vocal harmonies. Their gritty songs, humour, and upbeat rhythms are built for foot-stomping fun.
Blasé Blasé
Headliner Blasé Blasé is an eclectic Victoria group that blends live jazz, funk, and conscious hip-hop, moving from dance-floor grooves to soulful, jazz-influenced tunes. The band has built a strong Island and mainland reputation through sold-out, high-energy shows.
