Town of Comox Invites Residents to Participate in Tree Bylaw Open House

The Town of Comox is developing a tree bylaw to help protect and manage trees and is hosting an open house on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the d’Esterre Seniors’ Centre.   

As part of the Urban Forest Management Strategy, a plan to manage and care for the town’s urban forest over the next 30 years, the Town is considering a tree bylaw to improve how trees are protected and replaced. This initiative is part of the Town of Comox 2022- 2026 Strategic Plan, which reflects the commitment to a sustainable environment that considers the long-term impact for future generations.

Location: dÉsterre Seniors’ Centre – 1801 Beaufort Avenue, Comox

The tree bylaw aims to protect the significant benefits that trees provide, including improved air quality, support for wildlife habitats, and enhanced community health.

The Town invites all residents to attend the open house to learn more about the proposed bylaw, ask questions, and provide feedback. Town staff will be available to discuss the draft bylaw and its implications.
