The Town of Comox has launched a new accessibility map, designed to help residents and visitors navigate the community with confidence and comfort.

This online map highlights accessibility features throughout Comox, including elevation information for sidewalks and trails, accessible parking stalls, washrooms, pathways and community amenities. By providing this information in one easy-to-use tool, the Town aims to support mobility for people of all ages and abilities.

“This map is a practical tool that enhances understanding of accessibility in our community,” said Comox Mayor Nicole Minions. “Whether you’re using a mobility aid, pushing a stroller, or simply want to get around a challenging terrain, this map can help you plan the safest route. We recognize the importance of accessibility for everyone and are committed to ongoing learning.”

The accessibility map was developed with support and grant funding from The Social Planning and Research Council of British Columbia (SPARC BC) as part of the Town’s commitment to creating a more accessible and inclusive community.

The map is now live and available on the Town of Comox website at comox.ca/accessibilitymap. The Town of Comox welcomes public input on its Accessibility Plan (comox.ca/accessibility) and the rollout of new initiatives, such as this map. Feedback can be provided by:
