Spray Parks in Comox and Courtenay Reopening

Following careful review of public health and safety guidelines, both the Town of Comox and City of Courtenay
will be reopening spray parks on Friday July 3.

  • The Town of Comox Rotary Splash Park is located at Marina Park. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The City of Courtenay Rotary Water Park is located at Lewis Park. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hours are subject to change based or maintenance requirements or future changes to water restrictions in the
Comox Valley water system.

Both parks are free and open seven days a week, rain or shine. The parks are expected to remain open
throughout the summer, unless public health guidelines from other authorities change.

Spray park users are asked to stay home if feeling any sign of illness, and wash hands regularly – before and
after using the spray park. Spray park equipment will not be cleaned or disinfected. Public washrooms at both
spray parks will be open during operating hours.

Two-metre physical distancing should be maintained between parents and guardians. Users and family
members should avoid overcrowding in and around the spray parks.

The reopening is in alignment with Phase Two of the Province of B.C.’s Restart Plan. The British Columbia
Recreation and Parks Association and Royal Lifesaving Society of B.C. have provided guidelines for the safe
operation of playgrounds and water parks.
