Comox Firefighters Donate to Electric Vehicle Charging Station at Firehall
Comox, BC – The Comox Firefighters Association have made yet another generous donation to their community. They have recently donated $2,000.00 as partial costs to install a public use Electric Vehicle charging station at the Comox Firehall. The dual “Charge Point” system is available for public use at a very low cost per use.
Chief Gord Schreiner states “I am so proud of our firefighters for their support of so many important projects in our community. This environment friendly project is just another great example of some of the many things they do.”
Funds for projects like this come from small surpluses from the Comox Fire Training Centre, which is used by hundreds of visiting firefighters every year. Over the past few years the Comox firefighters have donated more than one hundred and fifty thousand dollars back into their community, including supporting the purchase of over forty public use automatic external defibrillators (AED).
