The Filberg Lodge and nine acres of beautifully landscaped grounds are located on the harbour near the end of Comox Avenue. The estate was originally built for R.J. Filberg in 1929, and following his death in 1977, the Lodge became the property of the Town of Comox (1979). It later became a Municipal Heritage site. The non-profit society, Heritage Filberg Lodge and Park Association, are dedicated to the preservation and stewardship of the Filberg Lodge and Park on behalf of the municipality.
This stately home is located on 9 beautifully landscaped acres a mere two minutes from downtown Comox. Open year-round, the landscaped grounds contain rare and exotic trees, a stream and numerous flowerbeds. Meandering the paths and open meadows are perfect for a stroll, a picnic, or quiet contemplation. Wander through the magnificent gardens, enjoy seasonal al fresco dining on the beautiful waterfront patio at the Filberg Summer Kitchen, take in seasonal events or enjoy the seasonal Hands On Farm with the kids.
The rustic Filberg Lodge is a reflection of local craftsmen's skills in using stone and timber. The original stonework was done by stone mason and head gardener William Meier. The Lodge’s warm interior complements the outside appearance with extensive hand-made woodwork and stonework.
The Totem Pole was created by carver Richard Krentz and donated by Gordon and Ivy Wagner. It was raised on June 19, 1994, and after standing proudly for 23 years, the aging totem has been placed in the ravine to complete its life cycle.
The Hands On Farm, operated by the Town of Comox during the summer months, houses various farm animals.
The Herb garden, inviting to both the eye and the nose, is located just above the Summer Kitchen. The Garden has been planted and is maintained by the Comox Valley Horticultural Society.

The Filberg Gift Shop is open year-round Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August from 11 am to 4 pm. All funds raised from the Gift Shop are used for the care and maintenance of the Lodge. Our ongoing success relies on the donations we receive and the passion of our volunteers. The Filberg Cutting Garden has been part of Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park since its inception in 1979. In 2011 it was officially named the Liz Stubbs Cutting Garden after the long-time volunteer, former board member and avid Filberg supporter. Our Cutting Garden is run by our volunteers and is open in late June, July, and August. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday you can purchase unique bouquets from our flower cart by donation
Filberg Festival
Each year the Filberg Festival is held in Comox to provide a three-day forum for hundreds of artists and performers to display their work and entertain.
